Morning Meditation

Good Morning and Happy Frigid Wednesday!

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.
1 Peter 2:12 (NIV)
Glorifying God!

Scripture reading: Daniel 5: 1-5 (NIV)
The administrators and satraps that the king had appointed to care for his kingdom had a serious situation on their hands. It seems that Daniel had so distinguished himself from them due to his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set Daniel in charge of the whole kingdom. It may have been due to envy, pride, fear or jealousy, but that didn’t sit well with these administrators. And who was this Daniel anyway? He was so different from the rest. Even his taste for food was radically different. So they set about looking for dirt…some reason to malign him. The trouble was, no fault could be found with Daniel. So they devised a plan to attack him where his behavior would be most predictable. The only vulnerable place they found was Daniel’s passionate and unyielding relationship with his God.
When people spend time with you, what do they walk away thinking? Do they know who you serve? And if they do, does your behavior cause them to think that you are the bona fide item or just another person pretending to be a follower of the one true God? Take a moment to think about that.
If you serve the God of Daniel, serve Him as Daniel did; with such authenticity that will move the heart of a king.
(Daniel 6:26-27)
Be encouraged and stay warm!
