Morning Meditation

Good Morning and Happy Friday!
And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
Hebrews 11:12 (NIV)
Hopeless Situations

With a heaviness of heart, the messenger approached both Jesus and Jarius, the synagogue leader. The news he had to share was the worst kind. He looked at Jarius and said, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t bother the teacher anymore”. (Luke 8:49)
This was the news that Jarius was trying to avoid. He had wanted to bring Jesus to his daughter with enough time for Jesus to do something. But now it was too late. His worst fears were now realized.
Have you ever had a situation that was so terminally hopeless that you just had to surrender to it? I’m sure you have. We all have. And in the midst of such hopeless situations, I want you to know that Jesus is there. He is always there.
In the case of Jarius’ daughter, Jesus quickly comforted Jarius with words of encouragement after the messenger spoke. Being aware of the emotionally crushing blow that the messenger’s words had on Jarius, He told Jarius not to be afraid and to believe for his daughter’s healing.
(Luke 8:50)
And she was healed, returning to her parents in good health.(Luke 8:55)
Clearly not every seemingly hopeless situation will end as wonderfully as it did for Jarius and his family. But Jesus promises to be with us as we walk through every valley of the shadow of death. (Psalm 23:4)
He is our comfort and lifter of our heads. (Psalm 3:3)
Be encouraged!
