Morning Meditation

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!
For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.
Colossians 1:19-20 (NIV)

Like Father…Like Son

This weekend, my cousin held a combined birthday and graduation reception for her two sons. I sat at a table with her brother who showed me an old black and white photograph of my father and four of my father’s brothers in their much younger years. Looking across my table, I couldn’t help but noticed how much like their fathers my cousins physically resembled.
But there were other aspects of my cousins’ features that were most likely contributed by their mothers, grandparents or other members of their gene pool. This of course is normal and expected as far as human genetic inheritance.
But for Jesus, the scripture above says that “God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him”. Spiritually, it was not a portion of God that was in Jesus Christ, but all the fullness of God. Only Jesus Christ, as God in human form could have reconciled man to Himself. (1 John 14)
Only the true son of God, with all the sinless and Holy nature of God, could be the perfect sacrifice to save imperfect man. (1 John 2:2)
Aren’t you glad that Christ Is?
Be encouraged!
