Morning Meditation

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,…
Philippians 1:9-10 (NIV)

Discernment
There is a mother sitting in her room, struggling over a decision that will have a lasting impact on her family. Her baby is only several months old and she is wrestling with the reality of having to leave her baby in the arms of another as she returns to work. There are other mouths to feed in the home. Mama has to make a living. But who can she trust to care for her newborn while she is away from the home? Where can she find that special person who will be chosen to greet her baby every morning to receive her child’s hugs and affections?
Discernment! This is one word that can mean all the difference in a person’s world. We all need discernment to make difficult decisions. But where can it be found?
According to the scriptures, Discernment is personified through the Wisdom of God who raises her voice loudly in the various arenas of our lives, looking for those who would choose to listen. (Proverbs 1:20-21)
The discernment which comes from God protects us from calamity and disaster because it is based on His love for us as our Father. And He freely gives His Holy Spirit to communicate His wisdom to us. (John 16:13-14)
Just ask Him for discernment when you are in need. He promises to generously lavish it on His children who simply need but ask. (James 1:5)
He is such a caring and protective God.
Be encouraged!
