Morning Meditation

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)

Our Exceedingly Generous God

One night, after a day of offering sacrifices to the Lord His God, the young king Solomon had an extraordinary dream. God came to Solomon in the dream and tested the king’s heart. He said to the king, “ask me for whatever you want me to give you”. (1 Kings 3:5)
The word “whatever” resonated in the king’s mind even as he slept. Only the creator of Heaven and Earth could make such a claim. But what was there to ask? Solomon was already king. What more could he want? And then he considered the task given to him by his father David. He is to lead his people in regards to the ways of the Lord.
(1 Kings 3:7-9)
So Solomon humbly and unselfishly asked God or wisdom to lead the Lord’s people. And the Lord lavished upon Solomon more wisdom than any person that ever came before him or after him. (1 Kings 3:12)
Moreover, He gave Solomon both honor and wealth that Solomon did not even ask. (1 Kings 3:13)
Don’t be surprised by God’s generosity. This is God’s way. He is able to give above and beyond anything we can ever ask according to His pleasure. And He is pleased when the request comes from a selfless and obedient heart.
Know His ways and be blessed.
He is such a generous God!
Be encouraged!
