Morning Meditation

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Galatians 6:1 (NIV)

God’s Restoration

In the field of Addiction, I meet many people who are mandated to attend a Chemical Dependency program because they were caught using an illegal drug. Some readily admit that they have an out-of-control relationship with their drug of choice. Others will insist that there is no problem and all of this is just a big mistake. It is a misunderstanding…someone has blown a little drug use out of proportion. Regardless if they are in denial or facing their reality, they all need restoration.
There was once a young man who also manifested out-of-control behavior. (Luke 15:11-13)
He spent all of his inheritance on loose living. This was of course wealth that was earned from his father’s labor.
(Luke 15:12)
When he came to his senses, he sought to restore a sense of normalcy in his life. He wanted restoration. His father could have confronted him on his horrible behavior. He could have rightfully made him a servant in his house.
(Luke 15:19)
But seeing his son from a distance, the father ran towards him. He then flung his arms around his son, forgave and kissed him. (Luke 15:20)
This is the picture of the type of restoration that God does once we come to our senses regrading our disobedience. Unlike the world, He gently and lovingly restores us to His vision of who He created us to be.
Be encouraged!
