Morning Meditation

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water.’And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” Revelation 7:16-17 (NIV)

Tears

Scripture Reading: Genesis 21:8-21
A desert does not accommodate trespassers or fools. Yet this is where Hagar found herself and her teenage son after being put out by Abraham and Sarah. The heat of the desert sun was beating down on their backs. They were both hungry and very thirsty. The small supply of food and water they carried had run out and Hagar finally reached her physical and emotional limit. She placed her son under a bush and went a slight distance away, for she could not watch her son die. And then she burst into tears.
Have you ever been in a dry place where your resources were spent and the only thing you could do is cry? And even that took some borrowed energy. I have been there. Maybe you are there now.
God heard the cries of both Hagar and her son. He hears our cries and sees our tears also. The scriptures tell us that each tear that we shed is preserved in a bottle, so precious are we to God.
He provided a well of life saving water for Hagar and her son in the middle of the desert and dried their tears, He will do the same for us.
